Labor text
note:
After outer removed. Note:
First
consideration; time
allowed may not reflect the additional operations required to
install the reinforcement. The installation of the inner pillar
reinforcement requires sectioning the pillar with a staggered join
with two separate
splices, below the seat belt attaching point. This operation also
requires the additional steps of removing or installing of the
“inner rocker reinforcement” that is attached to the bottom of
the “inner pillar reinforcement.” Second
consideration; the
“inner reinforcement” is serviced as a four piece unit with the
inner rocker reinforcement (part # 1J4 810 608 A) attached to the
bottom of the “pillar reinforcement.” Graphics shown in crash
guide indicates the inner rocker reinforcement and the inner pillar
reinforcement as being serviced separately, but in reality they are
serviced as a unit. There
may be a possibility that the manufacturer’s service procedure for
this operation is inaccurate. Suggestion:
¨
Motor/CCC 1.
Increase time allowance for additional steps required (12.0
hours) 2.
Correct graphics to show how part is actually serviced 3.
Increase information in labor notes, indicating a staggered
cut sectioning procedure 1.

Response: Mitchell Febuary 15, 2002 - Labor
Allowances and Notes have been updated. ¨
ADP January 2002 - Inner Center Pillar changed to 5.0. If the Partial replace labor is selected for the Rocker Panel & Center Pillar and the Inner Center Pillar, the total time will be 16.0 hours for the complete operation; and 11.5 hours if the Center Pillar Partial replace labor and Inner Center Pillar is selected.
Rocker Panel reinforcement: The labor time for the Rocker Panel
reinforcement was also raised to compensate for the operations
necessary to remove it from the attaching reinforcement. This time
will change from 10.6 to 11.6. ¨
