Inquiry
(as stated by inquirer) Mitchell and Motor: In front inner structure section the guide lists and
shows a part identified as an “inner reinforcement” (Part
number ZF2Z 16C274-5AA). Based on the 00 Windstar vehicle in our
facility this part does not exist or is listed in the wrong
section or crash guide. Mitchell: The labor note for unidentifiable “inner
reinforcement” should apply to the “Reinf, Front Apron.” To
R&R the Apron Reinforcement the welded upper hinge
reinforcement must be removed and/or replaced. Motor: The “labor note” for the “Apron Reinforcement”
implies these parts are serviced as an assembly; that may be
incorrect. Labor note and/or time allowance for the apron
reinforcement should reflect the removal of the welded “hinge
reinforcement.” Suggestion

Response: ADP: ADP supports both the Inner Fender Reinf (XF2Z16154AA/XF2Z161545AA) and the Front Fender Reinf (XF2Z16C275AA/XF2Z16C274AA) for years 1999-2002 in the Front Body Interior Sheetmetal Section
Mitchell: The part is listed correctly as inner fender reinforcements. The labor time on the inner reinforcements is with the outer removed. But if the outer is chosen, this time includes the inner.
Motor Information System: 10/8/2004 (DR2MT99) Changed part description from inner reinforcement to “fender mounting bracket” and apron reinforcement to “upper rail”. Fender mounting bracket has labor time of 1.5 hours and footnote “Time is after bumper, headlamp, fender and all necessary bolted on parts are removed.” Upper rail has labor time of 4.5 hours with footnote “Time includes R&R fender mount bracket and upper reinforcement.” Overlap Operations and Sectioning operations have been added to chapter. |
