While attempting to R&I the headliner it was noted the one-piece foam reinforced headliner is glued directly to the underside of the roof. This creating a situation where the headliner is damaged when removed.

Suggestion

To All:

1. Please include a “labor note” for this operation identifying this as a non reusable part.

Response:
ADP: We reviewed the Ford service information and found that its contents agree with your findings on the matter of the headliner serviceability. Ford states and I quote "The headliner is used one time only." As a result of this new information we will add text to the headliner of both the Ford Taurus and the Mercury Sable that read "Non-reusable part." This text will inform the user that an R&I is not able to be performed without damage to this part. This change will be on the February 2004 CD.

Mitchell: We researched this operation as well and found the headliner to be a non-reusable part. We put a note following the part to make this clarification
