Inquiry
(as stated by inquirer) There
are differences between different models and seat options; this
should be taken into consideration for the seat belt replacement
time allowances. Listed are the many operational steps that are
required to replace the seat belts on an F-250 Super Cab. Because
newer vehicle seat belts are now commonly connected to the SRS
safety system there is an ever increasing requirement to replace
seat belts. Operation
steps to replace “seat belt buckle” (mounted to inner side of
seat): ¨
Disconnect wire harness
¨
Remove anchor bolt trim
cover ¨
Remove 5 anchor bolts ¨
Remove seat from
vehicle ¨
Replace buckle unit Operation
steps for “seat belt retractor” assembly (mounted inside of
seat-back upright): ¨
Remove trim panel,
mounted at outer side of seat base ¨
Remove head rest ¨
Remove “retractor
trim cover” located
at top of seat back ¨
Remove trim panel on
back side of seat back (replace trim panel fasteners) ¨
Replace retractor

ADP: 04/21/2004 We will be adding the additional labor operations required to replace the seatbelts. The following operations will be added seat R & I and all appropriate interior trim panels. Motor Information System 10/8/2004 (DR2ME99) Changed labor time on seat belt buckle to 0.3 hours and labor time on the seat belt retractor to 0.8 hours with footnote “Time is for retractor assembly.” |
