Inquiry (as stated by inquirer)

¨ The rear center panel replacement process requires replacing the left and right tail lamp panels in conjunction with the center panel. The center panel under-laps the tail lamp panels, which require the tail lamp panels to be completely removed and replaced.

¨ Motor does not list the tail lamp panel in the data base

¨ Mitchell lists the tail lamp panel, but lists the panel in the quarter panel section and not the rear body panel section. An estimator would be better served with the tail lamp panel listed in the rear body section.

Suggestion:

¨ Motor: Please identify and list the tail lamp panel in data base. I suggest it be listed in the rear body panel section and not the quarter panel.

¨ Mitchell: list the tail lamp panel in the rear body section.

¨ Mitchell and Motor: Show in the labor notes the necessity of replacing the tail lamp panels in conjunction with the rear center panel.

Include in the time allowance the time to replace the tail lamp panels

Mitchell, We updated the labor allowance on the rear body panel to 10.0 hrs with a labor note which states that it includes the combination lamp housing panels.

ADP: We will add the labor to remove the taillamp reinforcements to the rear body panel. Our time was 7.3 hrs for the rear body panel but will be increased to 9.7 hrs to accommodate these additional operations. If the taillamp reinforcements are selected once this change is made, they will show as INC once the rear body panel has been selected

Motor Information System 10/8/2004 - (ARS1420) Added tail lamp pockets to the Rear Body & Floor group with part numbers 6414055G00 (R) & 6454055G00 (L) for sedan and 6414054G10 (R) & 5454054G10 (L) with labor time of 2.0 hours for sedan and 2.5 hours for wagon. Added Overlap Operation R&R rear body panel, w/tail lamp pocket off deduct 1.0 hour and R&R tail lamp pocket w/quarter panel off deduct 1.0 hour.
