(as stated by inquirer) 1.
In the door section of the data base, the labor note should
clearly state, when replacing the door both the door side, upper
and lower hinges must be replaced. Mitchell states this in their
labor note, but Motor does not. Motor has a incomplete labor note
in their door section but there is no asterisk that aligns the
labor note to replacing the door. 2.
There may be some misinterpretation of collision repair
information when Mitchell and Motor have such wide differences in
their time allowances for the door hinges.
Suggestion:
Motor: Please clearly identify with an asterisk that the door hinges must be replaced when replacing the door. Motor: Please review the replacement process, when replacing door side and body side hinges. There are several steps that may not have been taken into consideration. The collision repair manual information probably pertains to replacing a hinge on a new door and not an existing door
