Inquiry
(as stated by inquirer) The removal process of the antenna assembly requires the “antenna
cable ground wire” to be separated; the ground wire is located
at the upper inner side of the door pillar (A-Pillar). To access
the antenna ground wire bolt, the blower assembly must be
removed because it lodged against the inner pillar blocking access
to the ground bolt (the
ground bolt is not visible without the removal of the blower unit).
Because the blower assembly under laps the AC evaporator
assembly the evaporator unit must be removed to facilitate the
removal of the blower assembly; this also requiring the
discharging of the AC refrigerant. The entire process, including
the removal of the radio consumes the better part of an entire
day, taking a technician 7 hours. Suggestion: ¨
Motor:
Please include labor note stating the components that must be
removed to access the removal and replacement. ¨
Mitchell:
Please list the part, labor and labor note for the antenna assembly. ¨
ADP:
Please review the labor report for this operation and update as
needed. Response: ADP: ADP's labor time for the R&I Radio Antenna Assembly matches up with the manufacturer's flat rate time for this operation so we feel that our labor time is sufficient Motor Information System 10/8/2004 - (ARM8511) Changed labor time on antenna assembly to 2.1 hours with footnote “Time includes R&I/R&R windshield pillar trim, glove box assembly, mast and access time.” Added Overlap Operations R&R antenna with instrument panel off deduct 1.2 hours. |
