Inquiry
(as stated by inquirer) The replacement process requires the unplugging of the wire harness; the
harness travels through a hole in the apron panel. To access the
wire harness plug the dash assembly must be removed; the plug is
located in an inaccessible area. The Toyota dealer has researched
this operation and finds this is the method to remove the harness Suggestion: ¨
Motor:
Please amend your labor note. ¨
Mitchell:
Please add a labor note and include this operation. ¨
ADP:
Please review the labor report for this operation and update as
needed. Response:
ADP: ADP time does not include time to remove the wiring harness. This exclusion of labor is found on page 56 and page 45 of the database reference manual. Most manufacturers provide very limited information in regards to what is required to remove these harnesses; therefore this has put us in a position where we do not want to give incorrect time for this operation. The shop must add this time as a manual entry in order for it to be available on the estimate. Below I have attached a copy of the labor exclusions list for your review. Motor Information System 10/8/2004 (ARM8511) MOTOR’s GTE pages (pG16) does not include electrical wiring for the R&R of a welded front apron panel.. |
