Inquiry (as stated by inquirer)

We have a 2003 Mercedes E320 in the shop. To replace the LT tail lamp you must partially de-trim the trunk. First you must lift the spare tire cover out of the way to access the rear-body trim.

Then you must set it back down to partially disconnect the side trunk trim just to access the tail lamp bolts. These added steps add .9 hrs to the operation.

 

Suggestion:

¨       Motor: Please review operation and add labor note.

¨       Mitchell: Please review operation and add labor note.

¨       ADP: Please review operation.

 

Response:

ADP: The following labor will be added to the tail lamp assembly, inner quarter panel trims and the inner rear body trim panel.  This will result in additional 0.6 of and hour.

Mitchell:  The labor allowance is to partially disconnect the trunk trim in order to access the tail lamp connecting hardware.  The time specified in the inquiry, 0.9hrs is to R&R the trunk trim which is not included.

MOTOR: (9/2/04) (ERI5717) No changes: The labor time of 0.4 hours is sufficient enough and includes access time to partially disconnect the trunk trim.
