Re: 2003 Nissan Murano side door lower molding not reusable.

The way that the molding clips are attached to the side molding does not allow for removal and installation of the molding without damaging moldings. The left front and left rear door molding part numbers are 80871-CA000 and 82871-CA000 this also applies for the right side molding.

Please review, add a labor note identifying this is a non-reusable part.

ADP: 04/13/2004 We reviewed the manufacturer's service information for the replacement of the body side moudlings on the 2003/4 Nissan Murano. According to the service information the clips are not listed as non-reusable part. The only time we can list a part as non-reusable is when it is stated by the manufacturer.

Mitchell: 04/21/2004 The moulding is serviced with the clips but they are attached to the moulding and cannot be purchased separately. The manufacturer does not identify that the mouldings on this vehicle are non-reusable. We have physically found a Murano and removed the moulding without performing any damage to the moulding itself, photos available.

Additionally, some plastic or metal fasteners may be damaged and their ability to be reused jeopardized because of single-use design, age or exposure to the elements. Caution should be taken while removing all fasteners, both metal and plastic. MOTOR recommends these factors be considered and mutually agreed upon before finalizing any repair cost estimate.
