  CIC Industry Discussions Break Out Session
Attendees: Cheryl Boyd, Dan Dutra, Rod Enlow, Karen Fierst, Glen Funk, Jerry Harn, Dick Mundinger, Bob Smith, Margo Smith, Bobby Wright, Roger Wright

Co-Chair, Karen Fierst, recapped committee and CIC Committee Co-Chair conference calls, Industry Discussions mission statement and presentation for April 5 CIC meeting.

Committee meeting focused on how to make CIC presentations more engaging to the audience. The following issues were discussed:
  • floor layout
  • practicality and logistics of changing chair set up for Industry Discussion presentations
  • more interactive presentation ideas
  • use a facilitator and Phil Donohue type format
  • have small break out groups for issue discussion and then have group presentations
  • use 3X5 cards to solicit audience questions, to enable those hesitant to stand before the group to have input
  • format CIC as General Sessions combined with "workshops" (i.e a few committees meet simultaneously during the workshops)
  • assign Industry Discussions Committee representative(s) to organize presentations
  • conduct past-CIC conference calls to critique presentation format
July CIC meeting - Dan Dutra will coordinate "Cycle Time" presentation. Dutra will solicit a representative from each committee, which has cycle time on its list of priorities to work with him on the presentation.

Karen Fierst will coordinate "Inter-Industry Ideal Parts Transaction Best Practices" presentation. Fierst will work with the ad hoc committee which has been meeting for over a year to develop the presentation.
