I-CAR Annual Meeting

CIC Urges Your Support of
Camp Mak-A-Dream is operated by Children's Oncology Camp Foundation and is a cost-free camp for children (ages 6-12), teens (ages 13-17) and young adults (ages 18-25) with cancer. The facility is located approximately 65 miles east of Missoula, Montana on I-90 at the Gold Creek exit, just 3/4 of a mile south of the Interstate. Camp Mak-A-Dream counselors and staff are trained professionals.
All of its staff are dedicated to the welfare and happiness of the kids and young adults, and they are committed to making their stay at camp an escape and fun-filled dream. One of the problems is that there is no immediate medical care on site. Helicopters are used to transport sick and injured children 20 minutes away to the nearest medical center. Their desire is to build a center of their own.
NABC has pledged $500,000 for the $1.3 million project and once the center is built, it will be named after the collision repair industry. Grossi, chairman of NABC and secretary of SCRS, and Camp Volunteer President Brian Granader began spreading the word throughout the industry. The first night they raised $6,000. Since then, numerous individuals, companies, corporations, and other associations have provided donations. Among the largest fund raisers was the Kansas City/Topeka Chapter of SCRS that held a golf tournament, which raised $10,000 for Camp Mak-A-Dream. As you can see, much more is need to complete this medical center. We hope you will take an interest in contributing to Camp-Mak-A Dream. For the children and young adults suffering from cancer who visit there, it is a unique source of comfort, enjoyment, and safety. You can find out more by contacting the National Auto Body Council at P.O. Box 3368, St. Charles, IL 60174, 888-66-PRIDE, or the Camp Mak A Dream website.
